If you received a promo code for an Atlassian Marketplace app, you can apply it through the Atlassian Cloud billing portal. In this guide, we’ll show you how to redeem a promo code using the Improved Billing Experience in Jira Cloud or Confluence Cloud.

Note: This guide applies to Atlassian Cloud subscriptions managed via admin.atlassian.com. If your organization uses the original billing experience, the interface may look different.

To apply a promo code in Atlassian Cloud, you must:

• Be a Billing Admin
• Have access to the billing account at admin.atlassian.com
• Have an active paid Marketplace app subscription

Only paid apps appear in the Subscriptions section.

Step 1: Go to admin.atlassian.com

Log in to your Atlassian Admin portal: https://admin.atlassian.com

If you manage multiple billing accounts, select the correct one.

Step 2: Open Billing → Subscriptions

From the left-hand menu:

1. Click Billing

2. Select Subscriptions

You will see a list of all active product and Marketplace app subscriptions.

Step 3: Open the Marketplace App Subscription

In the Subscriptions table:

1. Find the Marketplace app you want to apply the promo code to

2. Click Manage

This opens the Subscription details page for that specific app.

Step 4: Click “Enter promo code”

On the Subscription details page:

1. Click the three-dot menu (More actions) in the top-right corner

2. Select Enter promo code

Step 5: Enter, Validate, and Apply the Promo Code

A “Promo code discount” window will appear.

1. Enter your promo code in the input field

2. Click Validate

3. Confirm by clicking Apply discount

If a promotional discount is already active, you can replace it with a new one:

Go to Billing → Subscriptions

Open the Marketplace app subscription

Click More actions

Select Update promo code

The new code will override the existing promotion.

• Promo codes apply only to paid Marketplace app
• Free apps do not appear in the Subscriptions list
• Discounts typically start at the next billing cycle
• Only Billing Admins can apply or update promo codes

Applying a promo code to an Atlassian Marketplace app in Cloud is a simple process managed through the Atlassian Admin billing portal.
